WRIST MAGNETS AND SKY MAGNETARS

If a wrist magnet bracelet helps relieve human pains on Earth, what do you suppose magnetars do in space? Since there are only 10 known in the universe, and their life-span is just a few thousand years before they lose their X-ray powers, and they were only just discovered in 1998its still too soon to tell just what they contribute.
First cousin to pulsars, the magnetars flash X-rays about once every 10 seconds, with the occasional burst of gamma rays. Rotating magnets give off energy (the ethanol of the future?). The faster they spin, the greater the magnetic field, but also the faster they lose their energy.
Magnetars, when observed, show rapid deceleration, meaning they possess a huge magnetic field. So huge, in fact, that should one come as close as 100,000 miles away from Earth (the Moon is 238,857 miles away) it would erase everyone’s credit card strips! Wait a minute. Maybe that’s not such a bad thing….

AND FINALLY, Speaking of the Moon: First Quarter: 2nd August, Full Moon (also known as the ‘Red Moon’ from the heat and haze of August): 9th August, Last Quarter: 15th August, New Moon: 23rd August, First Quarter: 31st August, Full Moon: 7th September. Best days for fishing this month, according to the Moon, are: Best: (***): 2nd, 29th, and 30th; Better (**): 3rd and 28th; and Good (*): 1st, 10th, 11th, 18th, 19th and 20th August, and 6th, 7th and 8th September. Happy Fishing!
