Lobsterfest Moves To The Beach. By Elysia Dial

The Placencia Lobsterfest Committee is
very excited to announce that this year’s festival will be moved out
onto Placencia’s Point. Placencia Lobsterfest is being held June 23,
24, & 25, 2006 - the last full weekend of the month.
Besides the location there are other exciting things being added to
the festival. This year coordinators are planning more day time
activities including dory races, the “reel” race and the Pickled
Parrot Tug-O-War.

Old Farts Does It Again

What do you call a buff Belizean and two
“maga” gringos in a canoe? That’s right: Placencia’s latest
rendition of the Old Farts, and the village’s entry team for La Ruta
Maya 2006! From March 3-6, local tour guide and church leader Arthur
Vernon (also known as Preacher, Pastor, or Junie) together with
Peace Corps volunteers Jeff and Elicia Blumberg, paddled their
hearts out in one of the longest and most
grueling canoe races in the world.Continue»

now has a new outdoor grill with daily specials. Please note
that the Parrot will be closed Good Friday, Saturday and Sunday
as they are re-doing their thatch but will be open on Monday,
Apr 17th at 4pm till 9:30pm!

has a
brand new office in Placencia Village hours are 8am to 4pm
Tuesdays and Thursdays. The office is located where Dani's Hair
Saloon was.

Purple Space Monkey
will now be closed on Thursdays. Visit them from 8am to 9:30pm
every other day of the week!

Restaurant is now open. Offering fine French Food, wines and
more...Opening Hours 6pm-11pm. Closed Mondays. Lacoted at the
