From the Chairman’s Desk:
National Policy of Local Government Law launched October 14th 2009, gives Village Council Primary Authority over Water Board & Lots Committee Countrywide. A copy of the National Policy can be obtained at the Placencia Village Council’s office.
Placencia Village By-laws to be implemented shortly.
Extensive discussions with (I.D.B.) Inter American Development Bank/Government of Belize /Placencia Village Council , presently underway for funding ($8 million U.S.D.) for a Placencia Peninsula Sewer System , 50 % of funds in place.
Completion of Red moon Land sale with Placencia Village Council will be completed shortly.
Placencia Village Council is enforcing Government of Belize fines by issuing Government ticket fines for high brush, unkempt properties & garbage violations within our Placencia village’s Boundaries.
Process for Legal Boundary Lines (demarcation) between Placencia & Seine Bight underway.
Sustainable Tourism Project for Placencia /Main Pier & Plaza, presently in feasibility study phase. moving forward;
Crimson Park Development (191 Lots) Phase 1 of 3 land fill completed. Phase 2 land fill development currently under way.
Belize’s Second International Airport (North- West of The Riversdale area,) presently under construction. 50 % completed. Moving forward;
Placencia road upgrade to be completed in one year. Moving forward;
Plans for 24/7 Police main check point to be implemented in early 2010.
Placencia Village Council Public meetings to be held once per month starting end of November. Date will be announced via cable, email and posters.
