Applications for the Bruk Down Competition 2009
Accepting applications until the 30th of November
Da soon Bruk Down and Brammin time again, so the Institute of Creative Arts, House of Culture and the National Kriol Council have collaborated once more for the annual Bruk Down Competition and Bram. It is scheduled for the 12th of December at the House of Culture.
This event seeks to revive interest in a truly Belizean and traditional art-form. The Bruk Down Competition has been, since 2004, a means of highlighting Belizean musicians, who have perfected their craft and wish to compete with other talented musicians. This year’s event promises to be an even more festive and interactive one, as the competition will be presented in the form of a Bram, and guests will be encouraged to join in the festivities
Applications are now available at the Bliss Center for Performing Arts. All musicians are advised to pass by the Bliss and get an application form and guidelines for participation. The deadline for applications is the 30th of November 2009.
