St. John’s PTA Bake Sales
Bake-sale at the football game – Sunday, 18 October 2009
By Ilsa Villanueva
It was raining and cool, and a Sunday at that, and a nice day to stay cozy in bed reading God’s word like I normally do on my Sunday afternoons. Here I was contemplating should I just stay in or get to the bake sale that the PTA was committed to put off along with the football team (they invited us there). I’m serious about commitments, so I got up, made my goodies and set out to the field, never minding the rain.
The bake sale was our second for the month of October and we had just enough donations of good delicious pastries to last us from the start to finish of game. The tension at the game was high causing the fans to want a sweet high and of course we were there to meet their needs. It was a good game and a good sale. Thanks to our pastry suppliers and supporters.
We made a profit of approximately $440.00 between the two bake sale and this money goes towards the salary of the school custodian.
All in all, at the end of the day, it was a huge success and it all benefits our beautiful Placencian kids.
Look out for our Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner Sale on November 26, 2009.
