Placencia's New Preschool
St. John's Anglican Memorial School is proudly announcing its latest addition - the Preschool! The new school is temporarily located at Evan
Young's house (thank you, Evan!), which was renovated this summer and is along the sidewalk, right across from "Denyse's Originals" Gift Shop. The permanent preschool building will be built as soon as possible on the primary school grounds.
It has been a community effort to get this project accomplished! We congratulate villagers, St. John's Memorial School and its management, the Anglican Diocese, who have created a reality from a dream of a quality preschool. We also want to thank
all local businesses and villagers for their donations, volunteer work and expertise. Many were very generous and helpful - without your support the school could not have been ready on time!
The received money was used to buy construction materials for the renovation of the building which was in urgent need of repair and also to purchase new preschool supplies, educational materials as well as tables and chairs. Volunteers helped with painting, sawing and whatever else was needed to get the school ready for its young students!
Scientific research shows that children who attend a quality preschool have better outcomes – they are engaged students and have a greater opportunity of employment and higher wages in life.
The St. John's Anglican Preschool will provide a warm and caring early learning environment where children have the opportunity to explore and grow, secure in the knowledge that they are a valued member of our community. They will be well prepared to enter primary school after their preschool graduation.
Education is the key to success!!
