As a long time resident of Placencia and an avid reader I can attest to the fact that it is often hard to find books in Placencia. If you taste in reading is even a bit different from the Best Seller list is can be down right impossible.

For years the one item I would request when asked by someone who was planning a visit from abroad was books. Books, books, and more books.

If you live here and know who’s who you are usually able to borrow but for our visitors who finish the book they are reading while on holiday and are ready to start another one the Placencia Breeze has compiled a list of Used Book exchanges on the peninsula.

The Singing Sands Inn
Our exchange policy: We have tons used book for exchange.  The policy is bring/leave the one that you read and take one from us.

Seaspray Hotel
Our exchange policy: two for one exchange and must be in good condition.

Lola’s Art, Seine Bight -
Don’t have a book exchange but have hundreds of Asimov, Analog and other sci-fi mags (some from the ‘70’s) and American Artist magazines for 2 dollars each

Placencia Tourism Center -
Our exchange policy: Two books for One or One book plus $2.50 for One!
