Belize Coaliation to Save our Natural Heritage

Coalition Commences Nationwide Consultation on Petroleum
The Coalition which was launched June 8 on World Ocean Day under the name of Belize Coalition to Save Our Natural Heritage launched its nationwide consultation and public awareness campaign.

The Coalition which now has membership of some 34 organizations in fulfillment of its promise to bring awareness to the people of this nation will be traveling countrywide to speak with individuals and organizations about the pending threat oil exploration and exploitation has offshore and in protected areas.

The first such presentation commenced Thursday June 17, 2010 at 7:00 pm at the Community Centre in Caye Caulker. Residents were invited to come out and attend this informative session.

As the Coalition team travels countrywide they sought support for their petition which was also unveiled at the launch.

On Tuesday June 22, the team traveled to San Pedro for similar consultations. The team also gave a special presentation to the National Trade Union Congress in Belize City.

Any organization, village, town or entity wishing for the team to make a presentation can make special request.
