This work of art, designed and drawn by Ms Boyarde Messenger certainly has heads turning and cameras snapping on Placencia's Main Street.

Inspired by my love of colour and all things unconventional, I discussed the idea of painting the faded wooden fence outside our shop with my Friend Boyarde, asking for her advice. I was blown away with her response!
Boyarde photographed the fence, printed off four separate images and drew and coloured the different designs on each print for me to select.

They were all awesome blueprints.......

We then got to! We whitewashed the fence and posts and Boyarde hand drew her magic. Boyarde and I both then began to paint.

We then invited another of our Artist Friends - Virginia Glessner - to join us in our quest, and to our delight Virginia was thrilled to come aboard.

The project took us almost three weeks to complete. We would work from 7am until 11am, when we would have no choice, but to pack it up and retreat from the burning sun.

We had alot of fun, mixing colours, painting and chatting to curious passer-bys.

I would love to see other People in the area 'jazz-up' their place of business - not only will it enhance the beauty of our Village, and improve on making Placencia a destination unto its own, but it will also boost their business, and therefore the community!
