The villages of Placencia and Seine Bight held their village council elections on Sunday April 18, 2010. This was a part of the nationwide village council elections which began in parts of the country as early as mid April and will run into June. These elections are held on Sundays and the community elections must be staggered due to the large ratio of villages to Elections and Boundary officials to oversee the elections.

The Placencia Breeze is excited about the two new councils that will be overseeing our peninsula. Placencia Village Council Chairman Charles Leslie Jr and Seine Bight Village Council Chairman Francis Palacio both recently attended a Placencia BTIA general meeting where they enthusiastically pledged to have the councils work together to make improvements to the peninsula.
