Our next project is to replace the section of the sidewalk by the Placencia
Coop that was damaged by our recent earthquake. We would like to do
this as soon as possible as it is badly damaged and dangerous to people walking
on the sidewalk. If anyone is interested in donating funds or materials for the
repairs, please feel free to contact an S.O.S. Committee Member or Ellie at the
Placencia Tourism Center at 501-523-4045.
Another project we would like to start is the beautification of the sidewalk,
since the rainy season is now here. We want to plant colorful flowers and shrubs
along the sidewalk. Our committee would like to know if anyone is interested
in beginning our nursery. Fred Mueller has offered to be of assistance by helping
to organize the nursery. Thanks Fred! If anyone is interested in being a part
of this project, again contact an S.O.S. Committee Member or the Placencia Tourism
Center.
The S.O.S. Committee Members are David Vernon at Deb & Dave's Last Resort/Toadal Adventures, Robert Argue at Chabil Mar Villas, Gillian Zabaneh at Sunova Beach Gift Shop/Tipsy Tuna and Ysela Zabaneh at Z-Touch Day Spa.
