In spite of the financial challenges, this is a very exciting year and you can all be proud of the progress that we have made in just two short years.

1) Because of your support we now have annual organized screenings in Placencia Village on the weekend of our Cancer Walk in Placencia Village. This screening is conducted by doctors and nurses from the Belize Cancer Society.

2) 99% of our logo sponsorships come from local organizations and businesses.

3) Our shuttles to and from the walk site have been sponsored by D’eclipse. Radiance shuttle will also be added to our list of supporters for our 2009 Battle Cancer Walk.

4) We have received the commitment of the Hon. Gaspar Vega, Minister of Lands, to acquire the property for the Edlin Leslie Sr. Hospice Care Center.

5) We will unveil the blueprint and artist rendering of the Edlin Leslie Sr. Hospice Care Center at our 2009 Battle Cancer race finish breakfast. The hospice care center was designed by architect Jim Heaton of Heaton and Associates of Los Angeles, California.

6) We will host a private unveiling of the Blueprint and Artist rendering for our Battle Cancer sponsors from 2007-2009.

7) We will review our financial statement and prepare for the challenge of raising the necessary funds to COMPLETE this project that will serve our community and our neighbours.

8) We will walk once again in 2009 to remember our friends and loved ones that we have lost to cancer and will continue to support a cause that will serve us all.

9) We will be thankful for the gift that so many of us quietly thank God for or wished we had only a few short years ago: A Cancer Center in Dangriga, Belize, the first in the entire country of Belize offering chemotherapy and counseling to families touched by Cancer. Thanks to the hard work and dedicated service of Dr. Elsworth Grant and Ms. Dellone Pascacio RN. In order to keep such a program it must be supported by us all!!!

10) Special Thanks go out to Muzamanzie Photography for their generous support in our 2008 Battle Cancer Walk. Thank you for capturing these wonderful images and for donating your services. As we prepare for our 3rd Battle Cancer Run/Walk we depend on your support!!! Your support is greatly needed and appreciated!!

Runner/walker sponsors needed: $40 BZE/$20 US sponsor a child or adult in the Battle Cancer walk. Children eagerly seek sponsorship each year. Each year children as young as 8 years old participate in this Cancer awareness program. We ask for your support on their behalf. **

Our T-shirts will cost $2000 US to print. If you would like to assist in sponsoring the printing of our 2009 Battle Cancer t-shirts, which will decrease the overall registration fees please contact us immediately. All are encouraged to attend and participate in the Battle Cancer walk each year. **
