La Dolce Vita is a wonderful Italian restaurant located in Placencia Village, upstairs of Wallen's Market.

Many visitors have been delighted with this cozy, intimate restaurant since it first opened its doors in March 2004 and has been able to upkeep its reputation. The owner, Simone De Angelis, moved to Placencia in 1997. He previously worked in construction and never had any intention of opening a restaurant. In 2004 he was doing some work above Wallen's Market and saw an opportunity to open a restaurant, and that's exactly what he did. He got the name "La Dolce Vita" from Fellini's great movie. It means "Sweet Life".

Simone was born in Rome, Italy. He has a passion for the foods and wines of his native country and it's apparent in every dish he serves. The kitchen is a clean, efficient place where much of the work is done by Simone's family. He imports his own wine, pasta, olive oil and many other ingredients to ensure his dishes are always of the highest quality.

The service at La Dolce Vita is always courteous and the food is always excellent. Particularly recommended among his starters are the antipasti, his cold meats and cheeses and bruschetta to name a few. And to accompany your appetizers, enjoy a cold glass of Pinot Grigio or a light Chianti.

All the pasta dishes are superb and their subtle sauces created with great care and skill. His meat and fish dishes are prepared with simplicity and taste. La Dolce Vita is a wonderful example of just how good a small, family-run restaurant can be when its patron is committed to the true quality served inexpensively in an elegant and friendly room.
