A Success! Southern Environmental Association [SEA], formerly known as Friends of Nature & Toledo Association for Sustainable Tourism and Empowerment brought together thirteen (13) community schools from eight (8) constituent communities approximately 600 students from Hopkins to Punta Gorda for a fun filled day that will remain in a special place of the children’s memories for years to come.
Highlights of the day were ‘Skits’, Whale Shark ID & National Geographic Video, Kayak Race, Triathlon Race, and as an addition students used their artistic talents to create a “Whale Shark, Manatee & Corals” in the sand.
Our day was culminated with a gracious thank you to God for a bright and sunny day and for giving us an opportunity to celebrate once more a “Whale Shark Day” with so many children of our coastal communities.
SEA would like to extend a thank you to all those who assisted and hopes that our next whale shark day will bring even more students, teachers and villagers together along with the conservation communities for a day of education and fun.
