BTB Launches new Belize Specialist Program

Belize City, Monday February 1st, 2010 –The Belize Tourism Board is pleased to advise of its new Belize Specialist Certification course for travel agents. The BTB-sponsored Belize Specialist course executed under Travel Agent University; an on-line travel education site targeted at travel agency professionals and is linked to “Travel Agent Magazine”.  Travel Agent University boasts being the industry’s largest online travel education site and of having graduated more specialists than any other agent education program and for Belize Travel Agent guarantees 4,000 agent graduates.

The purpose of the program is to encourage the international trade to become Belize specialists. Through the Belize Specialist program the BTB seeks to develop a comprehensive curriculum for the travel agent community that will cover basic and important aspects of Belize that a travel agent would want and need to know about the country in order to recommend and structure a hassle free vacation, group trip or even a wedding for their clients, and more. The Belize Specialist program will also allow for the Private sector to participate by sending news, videos and offers for program graduates, trade show mentions and listings.

The Program is accredited by TAU and successful applicants receive a diploma recognizing them as Belize Specialists.

Travel Agent is linked to the BTB’s official website: www.travelbelize.org and www.belizetourism.org , www.belizetraveltrade.org as part of the Travel Trade web site and can also be accessed through the Travel Agent University web site at: www.tauniv.com or www.travelagentccentral.com. As part of the launch the Belize Specialist Program will be featured in the March 15th issue of Travel Agent Magazine, posted on the home page of Caribbean Portal throughout a 12 month period and will create a group of Belize graduates in a social networking site for agents called “Agente Nation”. E-mail blasts, newsletters and ads are already on their way to keep the public and persons involved up to date on our latest most exciting program.
