North Valley Magazine Visits Belize

Belize City, Wednesday, February 24th, 2010- Travel Writer of North Valley Magazine, Eric Fairchild, is currently in country on a 5 day familiarization trip.

North Valley Magazine is a full-color, full-gloss bi-monthly publication providing content that celebrates the lifestyles of various communities within the North Valley.  Their editorial focuses on living life to the fullest, showcasing the best of North Valley areas.  It features business profiles, travel features, book reviews, health and fitness articles and stories that touch on issues that are directly related to the lives of their readers.

Eric first visited the ancient Maya City of Xunantunich where his journey began with a passage across the scenic Mopan river via a hand-cranked ferry and climbed the spectacular “El Castillo” which provided a breathtaking view of the towns of San Ignacio, Benque and the Guatemalan countryside.  Then, it was off to Placencia, a one-of-a-kind beach destination that attracts film stars, backpackers, anglers and divers alike.  There, he engaged in sea kayaking and savory local cuisine.  The final stop of his itinerary will take him to La Isla Bonita, San Pedro where he will snorkel Hol Chan & Shark Ray Alley, swim with the nurse sharks and rays and encounter the large green moray eels and parrotfish.

Participating private sector partners who assisted in making this trip a success included Tropic Air, Mata Chica Resort, El Pescador, Elvis Kitchen, Cotton Tree Lodge, Lamanai Outpost Lodge, Island Ferry and Sea-duced by Belize.
