The Belize Children’s Project
The Belize Children’s Project is an ongoing project which has been in existence for 35 years and is currently sponsored by the Belmopan Rotary Club and the Illinois Rotary District 6510. Through this project over 300 children from all over Belize have been assisted with surgical treatment to overcome bone abnormalities such as curvature of the spine, shortness in one leg, and club foot. This February Orthopedic clinics will be held across the country with Orthopedic Specialist Dr. Cole L’Hommedieu from St. Louis, Missouri, USA to find children up to age 18 who are in need of orthopedic care suffering from neck, spine, shoulder, arm, elbow, hand, hip, leg, knee, foot and other types of bone problems or abnormalities.
